I've been saying that 2003 is the year to be alive. Not one, but two Matrix films. The Animatrix. X2. Kill Bill. Return of the motherfuckin' King. As if that wasn't enough... Miller's Crossing is out on DVD. You heard that right. My favorite movie, finally on DVD. That's basically it, people. The universe has given me everything I ever wanted this year (let's not forget Buffy) so I figure this is pretty much it. 2004... I get hit by a bus or go live in a cave. Whatever. This is as good as it gets. Wait, no. I still need a sexy, bookish, gamer-chick to magically fall into my lap at the moment I win the lottery.

Typical. Give a guy a giant pile of extra-goodness and he asks for a little bit more. But really, the chick is negotiable. I'll accept a sexy, bookish, rocker-chick in a pinch.

Matrix Day was a complete success. Thanks to Cara and Scott for making the day about a million times better than it would have been alone. We watched the film 3 times in 14 hours and it was pure joy. The first viewing was made very sweet in the knowledge that every second of goodness was to be repeated 2 more times that day. Also, thanks to Cara and Phil (the walking encyclopedia) I learned the meaning of a new word: Merovingian. Well, it's new to me, anyway.

But the festival of Matrix-osity is far from over. I'm playing the Enter The Matrix computer game now, which is 3 disks long and includes an hour of extra film footage that ties into the movie. The game was written and directed by the Wachowskis, and it is a thing of beauty. I wasn't really blow away by it at first, but it takes some time to free your mind and learn how to play. Now I'm running along walls, jumping from building to building, and kicking ass in bullet-time.

Matrix saturation levels have now reached 98% and climbing. November cannot come fast enough.

Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself.
